The years in which a fan stopped building, usually between childhood and a return to the hobby as an adult.
Many adult fans built as children, stopped as teenagers and came back years later. The gap is called their dark age. Sets released during it are often the ones a returning fan most wants to track down, which is where a wishlist earns its keep.
