How the build check works

BrickDb compares a set's parts list with the parts you own and says how much of it you could build today.

Every set card and set page shows how many of a set's parts you already have, counted from your loose parts and your opened or built sets – exact matches only, and no part is counted twice. The set page lists what is missing, proposes a substitute where a rule allows one and names the rule, and adds the missing parts to your wishlist or a BrickLink wanted list. "What I can nearly build" ranks the sets you are closest to. It needs an account, because it reads your collection.
